Norfolk County resident, 75, killed in serious two-vehicle crash

OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk provides an update after a deadly two-vehicle collision left one person dead and three others injured in Norfolk County.

A 75-year-old Norfolk County resident is dead following a serious two-vehicle collision in Norfolk County on Sunday.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) previously said several people had been transported to hospital after the crash, which happened near Villa Nova Road and Concession 3 Townsend.

In an update posted to X, OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said emergency crews, including Norfolk County OPP, Ornge, fire services and paramedics, responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection shortly after noon.

Police said the driver of a pickup truck, a 75-year-old from Norfolk County, suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and two passengers in a sport utility vehicle were transported to hospital with injuries that were not immediately known.

Road closures remain in place as officers continue to investigate.

Police said Concession 3 is expected to remain closed for the next four to six hours.
