Tractor trailer driver killed in Brant County collision

One person has died after a collision along a busy highway in Brant County.

The Ontario Provincial Police said the crash happened on Highway 403 near Rest Acres Road around 5 p.m. Monday and involved two tractor trailers and a pickup truck.

“The driver of one of tractor trailers sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” OPP Constable Andrew Gamble said. “The driver of the second tractor trailer was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.”

Around 5:30 p.m., the OPP announced the highway was closed in both directions.

Although the eastbound lanes reopened around 7:56 p.m., the westbound lanes remained closed between Rest Acres Road and Middle Townline Road.
