Hagersville woman charged for fatal Hamilton crash

Two vehicles collide on Wilson Street in Hamilton on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.

A woman from Hagarsville, Ont. has been charged for a crash that killed one person and left two others with serious injuries.

The collision happened in Hamilton on Feb. 17.

Hamilton police said the woman was driving a Jeep Compass that was travelling at a high rate of speed on Wilson Street. At the time, around 7:30 p.m., a dense fog covered the area.

An Acura MDX then exited Highway 403 and was attempting to turn left onto Wilson Street when it was struck by the Jeep.

Police said the 52-year-old man driving the Acura was killed while the 43-year-old woman in the front passenger seat was hurt. No updates have been shared about her condition.

The Hagarsville woman, who is now 30 years old, was arrested on May 28.

She was charged with dangerous operation causing death and dangerous operation causing bodily harm, as well as stunt driving, speeding and failure to wear a seatbelt.

According to police, the Jeep was going at least 130 km/h in a 60 km/h zone at the time of the crash.
