Police say a pedestrian suffered life-altering injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while waiting at a Hamilton bus shelter.
According to police, a Ford Edge SUV exited a parking lot near King Street East and Dundurn Street North at around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and headed westbound. A short time later, the driver lost control and struck a 54-year-old man that was waiting in a bus shelter.
The pedestrian was rushed to hospital for treatment and his injuries are believed to be serious and life-altering, police said in a news release.
The female driver was not injured, according to investigators.
“All investigative avenues are being considered at this time,” Hamilton police said in the release.
“Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.”
