A three-vehicle collision on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton has left a 24-year-old woman dead, police say.
The crash happened shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to police, a blue Honda Civic was heading east near Upper James Street when it collided with a red Buick Allure towing a small trailer.
“Following the initial collision, both vehicles lost control. The Honda Civic crossed the grass median into the westbound lanes, where it was struck by an oncoming tractor-trailer,” police said in a news release.
The 24-year-old driver of the Civic, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
Neither the driver or passenger of the Buick sustained any injuries.
The Hamilton Police Service’s collision reconstruction unit is now in charge of the investigation and is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
