Police investigate after man injured in morning Hamilton shooting

Police are investigating after a man was shot in Hamilton last week, in an incident they only learned about the day after it happened.

It happened at around 7 a.m. on Aug. 14, either in or around Gage Park.

Hamilton Police said they were learned of the shooting on Saturday, after hearing someone had sustained a gunshot wound.

Investigators say an adult male sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. He has since been released from the hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting, as well as where exactly it took place, are unclear a this time.

Police are asking anyone who was in the general area at the time who have information or footage to contact them.
