Hamilton police say a 37-year-old man is in custody following a random daylight stabbing on Wednesday night.
It happened at around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Main Street West and Frid Street.
Police said a 16-year-old male called 911 to report that he had been randomly attacked by an unknown male and believed he had suffered a stab wound.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Several roads in the area were closed to assist with the search for the suspect and the investigation,” police said in a news release.
“The suspect was located nearby and arrested without incident. Members of the Hamilton Police K9 Unit searched the area and successfully located the weapon believed to have been used in the attack.”
