Police make third arrest in murder of man found at side of road in Niagara Region

Niagara police charged a third suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a 38-year-old man found dead near a rural road in Port Colborne, Ont., last summer.

Daniel Sanvido was discovered near Forkes Road and Highway 140 on the afternoon of Aug. 24 by the police.

Police classified the incident as a homicide, but did not release any details regarding the circumstances surrounding Sanvido’s death.

Earlier in January, police charged two people in connection with the alleged murder.

Jade Hayward, 36, of St. Catharines and Jacob Cudney, 47, of Niagara Falls were charged with first-degree murder on Jan. 2 and Jan. 4, respectively.

On Thursday, Niagara police arrested and charged Richard Stevens, 47, of Niagara Falls with first-degree murder after they got a call about his whereabouts.

The charges have not been tested in court.
