Niagara Regional Police are investigating a suspicious death after the body of a woman was found at a park in Lincoln, Ont. on Tuesday morning.
According to police, the woman’s body was found with traumatic injuries at Charles Daley Park, near North Service Road and Highway 406, at around 11 a.m.
The homicide unit is now leading the investigation, police said.
Police say they are still trying to identify the woman, who is believed to be of South Asian decent, between 25 to 40 years old, and is five-foot-three to five-foot-five, 130 to 150 pounds, with long, dark, curly hair.
She was wearing a pink zip-up hoodie with a ‘Playboy’ logo, light blue jeans, a black shirt, grey socks, and gold hoop earrings.
“At this time, the relationship between the victim and the unidentified suspect(s) is unknown. As such, investigators cannot confirm whether this incident was random or targeted,” police said in a news release.
“Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and to contact police with any information that may assist.”
Police said the investigation is still in the “preliminary stages” and there is a heavy police presence in the area.
