Niagara police are searching for the driver of an SUV that was involved in a hit-and-run in St. Catharines over the weekend.
Police say the hit-and-run happened at around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 in the area of Dunkirk and Service roads.
Investigators believe that the driver of a white Mercedes SUV collided with a cyclist before fleeing the area.
The cyclist was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.
Detectives say the suspect vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Bunting Road.
It was damaged after hitting the cyclist and will likely have front end damage and could be missing parts of the passenger side mirror assembly, which also has a distinctive built-in turn signal, according to police.
Residents and businesses in the area are asked to review video surveillance footage from the time of the incident and can contact police at (905) 688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009367, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
