A 23-year-old man was found with a stab wound in St. Catharines early Tuesday morning, according to Niagara police.
The incident happened in the Church and William streets area at around 12:25 a.m. according to investigators.
Police say the victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital, adding that his injuries are not life-threatening.
Police say they set up a perimeter in the area and were able to locate the suspect using K9 units.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear at this time.
David Penner, 59, of St. Catharines, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Police are seeking information from anyone who might have footage of the area from between the hours between midnight and 1 a.m.
