Woman jumps out of window to escape burning house in Mississauga: paramedics

A woman was seriously injured after she reportedly jumped out of a window amid a house fire in Mississauga.

A woman is in hospital after jumping from a window to escape a burning home in Mississauga Thursday night.

Fire crews were called to a residence on Buttonbush Crescent, in the area of Erin Mills Parkway and Burnhamthorpe Road West, just after 7 p.m.

Peel paramedics told CTV News Toronto that the woman who jumped was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause, origin and circumstances of the fire are unknown.
