The video, obtained by CP24. shows the victim crossing the street immediately prior to being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene

Police are appealing to scrap yards, dealerships and garages after a black SUV allegedly involved in a hit-and-run collision in Mississauga, where a woman remains in critical condition, was found repaired with new parts.

The collision happened before midnight on Jan. 14, in the area of Bristol Road West at Loonlake Avenue. Video obtained by CP24 shows the moment the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle, later identified by police as a black 2018 Honda CRV.

In the video, the pedestrian is seen crossing the street. She then stops and appears to start to back out of the way of the speeding SUV immediately before being struck.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

On Jan. 18, Peel Regional Police said they attended the area of White Clover Way and Apple Blossom Circle and found the SUV said to be involved in the hit-and-run collision.

“Upon inspection of the vehicle, investigators observed that parts had been replaced and repairs completed,” the release reads.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Police are asking businesses who might have sold parts or done some repairs on a black 2018 Honda CRV to call them at 905-453-2121 ext. 3710 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
