A 25-year-old man wanted in a Canada-wide warrant in connection with an armed home invasion in Mississauga more than a year ago has been arrested in Calgary.

On Tuesday, Peel Regional Police announced the arrest of the man, who is the third suspect apprehended in the Oct. 23, 2023, robbery near Mavis and Bristol roads.

Four suspects, wearing hard hats and carrying clipboards, allegedly forced their way into the home, which was occupied at the time.

Police said the suspects violently assaulted and forcibly confined the residents. They allegedly brandished a handgun and made demands for property and money.

The victims suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries during the incident, police said.

After taking two suspects into custody, investigators identified a third suspect last week, Carlo Sance Castro of Calgary.

Police said Sance Castro was later located by Calgary police and arrested. He has since been transported back to Peel Region.

Sance Castro has been charged with robbery, forcible confinement and assault causing bodily harm.

Police continue to look for a fourth suspect, who they have not identified at this time. Investigators say more charges could be laid as the investigation continue.

They are asking anyone with information to contact them at (905)453-2121 ext. 3410 or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or peelcrimestoppers.ca.
