Peel police are searching for a suspect who they say assaulted a man during a fight in Brampton last week.
The incident happened in the area of Dixie Road and Father Tobin Road, south of Countryside Drive, on Feb. 1.
Police said a man approached another man sometime between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m., and shortly after, a verbal altercation ensued.
One man assaulted the other and fled, police said. They noted that the victim sustained “significant” but non-life-threatening injuries.
In a news release on Saturday, police described the suspect as between 25 and 30 years old, five-foot-nine, with a medium complexion, skinny build, black hair that goes below the ears but above the shoulders, and a thin beard.
Investigators have released a photo of a suspect vehicle, believed to be an older model silver Mercedes with dark tinted windows. Police said the first letter of the licence plate is believed to be “C.”
They are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-453-2121 ext. 2100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
