Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly carjacked a woman in broad daylight at a gas station in Brampton earlier this week.

The incident happened in the area of Hurontario Street and Wanless Drive on Tuesday, at around 11:35 a.m., when two men allegedly armed with small knives approached the woman who was refuelling her silver Mercedes Benz C300 sedan at the time.

Peel Regional Police say the suspects demanded her keys, but she refused.

“The suspects attempted to rip the keys out of her hands and began to assault her,” Thursday’s news release reads.

Officers say the suspects got hold of the keys and stole the Mercedes, which was last seen driving southbound on Hurontario Street in Brampton. They add that the woman suffered minor physical injuries following the theft.

Police describe one suspect as a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, blue jeans and a white face covering and describe the other as a man with facial hair who was wearing a dark-coloured sweater, black pants, black shoes and light-coloured headband.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the carjacking, or dashcam footage of the area at the time, to contact them at 905-453-2121, ext. 3410 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
