A woman is accused of spray-painting anti-Muslim and anti-Indian graffiti at a playground in Mississauga last month.

Peel police said a call for mischief came in just before 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 22.

It was reported that a telecommunications utility box and several items in a nearby playground in the area of Webb and Grand Park drives were vandalized.

When officers arrived, they found the hate graffiti that contained derogatory remarks toward the Muslim and Indian communities, police said.

Investigators have since identified the suspect as 29-year-old Freda Looker-Rilloraza of Mississauga. She has been arrested and charged with mischief over $5,000.

Police said she was released on conditions, pending a court appearance.
