An 18-year-old man is dead following a stabbing at a Brampton apartment building late Thursday night.
Police said the man was stabbed after an altercation broke out in the lobby of an apartment complex on McMurchy Avenue, near Pagebrook Court, at around 10 p.m.
Police and paramedics responded to the area and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This was isolated and as a result of an altercation. We don’t know yet what the motive was,” Const. Tyler Bell told reporters on Friday morning.
“We are not sure if it is suspect or suspects.”
He noted that there were many people in the area at the time of the deadly stabbing.
“The building at the time was pretty busy. It is a very large complex with a lot of people coming and going there were a lot of vehicles and people present at the time of this incident,” Bell added.
It is unclear if the victim was a resident of the building or was just visiting.
Police are urging anyone in the area with dash camera footage to come forward and speak to investigators.
