Three people were injured, including one critically, after a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 410 in Brampton early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 410 at Clark Boulevard at around 2:30 a.m.

Police said the incident began as a two-vehicle collision and the occupants of a car exited their vehicle.

While they were conversing, police said, a third vehicle struck one of the drivers who was outside their vehicle at the time.

One person was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two others were treated for minor injuries and another person fled on foot, police said.

Police initially said that a tractor-trailer was one of the vehicles involved in the crash.

All northbound lanes of the highway were shut down between Steeles Avenue and Queen Street but reopened shortly before noon.

“Definitely a tough drive if you are planning travels into and out of Brampton,” CP24 Traffic Specialist Lisa Morales said on Wednesday morning.
