All eastbound express lanes of Highway 401 have reopened in Mississauga following a fatal crash early Friday morning, Ontario Provincial Police say.
Express lanes were closed at Winston Churchill Boulevard, police say.
OPP confirmed in an update that a 35-year-old man died from the collision.
“We’re still investigating the circumstances that caused that crash to take place in the first place after he crashed into the crash cushion that separates the collector lanes from the express lanes,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in a video.
OPP previously said the express lanes were expected to reopen sometime between noon and 1 p.m. In an update Friday afternoon, provincial police confirmed the roads reopened at 4:25 p.m.
