Peel police are on the scene of a hit-and-run in Brampton that left a pedestrian critically injured.

A man in his 20s is in life-threatening condition after he was struck in a hit-and-run in Brampton early Monday morning.

It happened near Bovaird Drive West and McLaughlin Road shortly before 5:20 a.m.

Police said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene.

He was rushed to a trauma centre for treatment.

Police have not provided any information on a suspect vehicle.
