Brampton crash leaves pedestrian critically injured

Peel regional police are investigating a late-night crash that left one person critically injured in Brampton, Friday night.

The incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. in the area of Queen Street East, east of Bramalea Road.

In a post to social media, police say a vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was later then transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Officials did note that the driver remained on scene.

Eastbound lanes of Queen Street East are closed from Bramalea Road as the investigation continues.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes as police say the investigation is ongoing.
