A man in his 20s is in hospital with serious injuries, says paramedics, while another is outstanding following a stabbing at a home in Mississauga late Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened on Pine Avenue North, near Lakeshore Road West in Port Credit.

Peel Regional Police said they were called to a residence in that area just after 5 p.m. for reports of a stabbing. They say two people got into an altercation.

There, officers found an adult male “suffering from cuts sustained by an edged weapon during an altercation with a known person.” They say the victim was taken to a local hospital and received stitches for “superficial wounds.” He was later released, police said.

Investigators told CP24 that while the incident was classified as a stabbing, the victim had no puncture wounds.

The suspect, only described by police as an adult male, is at-large, but is “known to police,” they said, and efforts to locate him are ongoing.
