A man is dead and at least two suspects are wanted after a shooting in a Brampton home Thursday night.
Peel Regional Police said they received a call shortly after 7 p.m. for reports of shots fired in a residence near Sandalwood Parkway and Crown Victoria Drive, east of Creditview Road.
Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. He was shortly pronounced dead at the scene.
Peel Regional Police media relations officer Const. Tyler Bell said two male suspects, of medium build and wearing dark clothing, were seen fleeing in a dark four-door sedan.
Bell confirmed that the shooting occurred inside the residence.

“The investigation is very early on right now. Information is a little bit limited, and with respect to the victim, who sadly lost her life tonight, we are still in the early stages of trying to identify next of kin, so I won’t elaborate further on them out of respect to their family,” Bell said.
While the motive is still unknown, Bell said the incident has “the makings of a targeted style shooting.”
“Whether or not this individual was the intended target, we don’t know,” he added.
The victim, Bell said, was not associated with the residence.
“So why they were there, what they were doing, that’s still to be determined at this point,” he said.
Bell confirmed that there were several people inside the home when the shooting occurred.
Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
“At this point, there’s nothing to indicate that there’s a random nature here. I know that this is disconcerting to residents who are coming out, and they’re seeing police, and they’ve heard that a murder has taken place in their home,” Bell said.
“What I can tell you is we have no information to believe that the suspects are anywhere in the vicinity, and should something change, we’ll let you know immediately.”
