A vehicle fleeing police knocked down a light standard in Brampton early Sunday morning, prompting several road closures in the area.
Peel regional police say the incident happened at around 4:49 a.m. in the area of Bramalea Road and Countryside Drive.
No injuries were reported.
As a result, northbound Bramalea Road is closed at Father Tobin Road, southbound Bramalea Road is closed at Claremont Drive, eastbound Countryside Drive is closed at Fairservice Drive, and westbound Countryside Drive is closed at Sunny Meadow Boulevard.
Police say the closures are expected to remain in place for an “undetermined amount of time” and drivers are being asked to use alternate routes.
The investigation is ongoing.
