Roads reopen after vehicle fleeing police knocked down light post in Brampton

Several roads in Brampton have officially reopened after a vehicle fleeing police knocked down a light standard early Sunday morning.

Peel regional police say the incident happened at around 4:49 a.m. in the area of Bramalea Road and Countryside Drive.

No injuries were reported.

As a result, northbound Bramalea Road was previously closed at Father Tobin Road, southbound Bramalea Road was closed at Claremont Drive, eastbound Countryside Drive was closed at Fairservice Drive, and westbound Countryside Drive was closed at Sunny Meadow Boulevard.

The investigation is ongoing.
