Man and woman fighting for their lives after double shooting in Brampton

Two people are suffering from life-threatening injuries following a double shooting in Brampton.

A man and woman are in hospital both fighting for their lives after an early morning double shooting in Brampton.

Peel regional police say emergency crews were called to the Ray Lawson Boulevard and Bent Tree Court area (near Steeles & McLaughlin) shortly after 4 a.m. for reports that two people had been shot.

Paramedics tell CP24 they transported both victims who they identified as a man and woman, to a trauma centre, where they remain in life-threatening condition.

However, the relationship between the two victims is unclear at this time.

Police say the suspects fled the area and are currently outstanding.

A heavy police presence remains in the neighbourhood as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The public is being asked to avoid the area while the investigation continues.

No suspect descriptions have been released.
