Peel police are searching for a suspect accused of assaulting a woman during an attempted robbery in Mississauga on Friday morning.
Police said the victim just exited her vehicle parked in the area of Lakeshore Road West and Mississauga Road at 5:45 a.m. when an unknown man approached her.
When the woman refused the man’s demand for her car keys, he allegedly smashed her cell phone and pushed her to the ground.
The man then tore articles of her clothing as he tried to take her car keys, police allege.
Shortly after, the suspect fled on foot without the keys.
“At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident,” police said.
On Saturday, investigators released images of the suspect, who is believed to be a 35-year-old white man, clean-shaven with distinctive straight white teeth.
He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a surgical mask covering his face, a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black jogger pants, and black shoes.
Police said the man was also seen carrying a pair of drumsticks in his left hand.
