The man accused of killing his parents inside their Mississauga home earlier this month has been arrested after a near 10-day Canada-wide manhunt.
In an update to reporters Sunday morning, Peel region officials revealed 46-year-old Jordan Sangwin was taken into custody by Toronto police at around 5 p.m. on Saturday after officers received a tip from a member of the public.
Police say Sangwin was found in a makeshift shelter in Mimico Creek Park in Etobicoke before he was turned over to Peel homicide investigators.

He has now been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of his parents, 70-year-old Carol Sangwin and 71-year-old Garwood Sangwin.
Investigators allege Sangwin killed his parents at their home near Lakeshore Road East and Hurontario Street in Mississauga on June 19 before fleeing the area.
Over the course of the investigation, police say they received about 25 tips from the public reporting possible sightings of Sangwin in Peel Region and Toronto, Inspector Mike Mavity said.

Mavity thanked members of the public for their assistance, saying the information they provided played an important role in helping investigators locate the suspect.
The arrest brings an end to a lengthy search that prompted a Canada-wide warrant, multiple public appeals and an extensive police search across Peel and Toronto.
On Friday, police released new images of Sangwin and confirmed he had been captured on a residential doorbell camera running through a south Etobicoke neighbourhood as officers searched the area. Less than 24 hours later, investigators announced he had been found and arrested following a public tip.
