Police officer taken to hospital following a collision involving a SUV in Brampton

A Peel Police officer was hospitalized after a crash involving their cruiser on Hurontario St. and Main St.

A police officer was taken to the hospital following a collision in Brampton early Sunday evening.

The crash happened at the intersection of Hurontario Street and Bovaird Drive West.

Peel Regional Police said they were called to that area around 6 p.m. for reports of a collision involving a police cruiser and a SUV.

Paramedics say they transported an officer to the hospital with minor injuries, confirming that a police cruiser was involved in the collision.

The police vehicle is a Dodge Charger.

No other injuries have been reported.

The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene, police said.
