A man is dead following a daylight shooting at a subdivision in Brampton on Sunday.
Peel police said a call came in at 3:38 p.m. for a shooting near Earlsbridge Boulevard and Edenbrook Hill Drive.
Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound, said Insp. Andrew Harris.
Peel paramedics told CP24 the victim was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
Harris confirmed during a Sunday evening news conference that the victim had died.

His identity has not been released. The homicide bureau has taken over the investigation.
Two suspects sought
Harris said investigators are looking for two male suspects last seen wearing dark hooded clothing who fled on foot after the shooting.
“After a significant search of the area, we’re satisfied that there’s no threat to the public,” Harris said.
He did not provide further descriptions of the suspects.
What led to shooting?
Harris said it is unknown at this time whether the victim and the suspects knew each other. He added that investigators are still trying to determine whether the parties involved lived in the area.
“There appeared to be at least an altercation between the parties before the rounds were fired,” he said.
The inspector confirmed that the shooting occurred out on the street.

“We’re in a fairly busy subdivision on what’s a busier side street in the City of Brampton. So, I would say that there was people out in the street,” Harris said.
He is asking anyone who witnessed the shooting and has not talked to police to come forward.
When asked if a firearm has been recovered, Harris said he was not in a position to confirm that information.
“We’re still investigating, and there’s still lots to be located,” he said.

Harris noted that residents should expect a police presence in the area as they investigate what exactly transpired.
“This investigation is going to be thorough, and our Homicide and Missing Persons Unit is going to be actively in the area to ensure we collect all the evidence from the scene, and we can prosecute this as best we can,” Harris said.
“We’re going to be in the area for a lengthy period of time.”
