Male in critical condition after stabbing, 17-year-old charged with attempted murder

Mike Walker has the latest on a stabbing that occurred in a Mississauga home, which left one man with critical injuries and resulted in the arrest of a youth.

A male victim is fighting for his life after being stabbed in Mississauga on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. in the area of Indian Grove and Indian Road. Police say an altercation occurred inside a residence before the stabbing.

Speaking to reporters at the scene, Peel Regional Police Acting Insp. Matt Miller said officers arrived to find a male victim suffering from multiple “lacerations.”

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where his injuries are currently considered life-threatening.

Police arrested a 17-year-old male suspect at the scene, who will be charged with attempted murder, according to Miller.

“There is no current evidence to support that any other parties are outstanding in this event,” Miller said.

Miller said the suspect and victim knew each other at the time of the incident.

“I can say at this point that the relationship is familial, but I don’t know the exact nature of the relationship,” he said.

Indian Grove Road is currently closed as police continue their investigation.
