Two-alarm house fire in Mississauga causes surrounding homes to evacuate, police say

A house fire in Mississauga on Saturday evening has forced occupants of surrounding homes to evacuate, police say.

Peel Regional Police said they received a call about an active fire in the area of Ruperts Gate Drive and Russell View Road at around 8:15 p.m.

Fire services tell CP24 it is a two-alarm fire, but did not provide further details.

There are no reported injuries at this time. The circumstances surrounding the fire are also unknown.

Police urge people to avoid the area at this time, adding that there are road closures at Glen Erin Drive at Middlebury Drive and Ruperts Gate Drive at Russell View Road.
