40-year-old man critically injured in Brampton stabbing, police say

Police are investigating a stabbing that critically injured a 40-year-old man in downtown Brampton on Aug. 4, 2026.

A 40-year-old man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in downtown Brampton on Tuesday, police say.

The incident happened at an address on McMurchy Avenue, which is near Queen and Main streets.

“At this time, investigators are working to determine how the injuries were sustained,” Peel Regional Police said.

Ornge tells CTV News it is transporting one patient with critical injuries.

He was taken to a local trauma centre for treatment, police said.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing are unclear at this time.

Officers remain on scene as the investigation is ongoing.
