A 31-year-old from Mississauga who went missing after a canoe capsized on a lake in Central Ontario on Saturday evening has been found dead.
Emergency crews were called shortly after 8 p.m. on Stewart Lake in the Township of Georgian Bay near Bracebridge for reports of a capsized canoe.
Ontario Provincial Police said two people were on board the canoe when it overturned about 40 feet from the shore.
One person was rescued by a passing boater while the other went underwater and did not resurface, police said.
Following a search, police said the body of the 31-year-old was located earlier on Sunday.
Their identity has not been released.
Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
