Two people have been transported to the hospital following an altercation with a “possible stabbing” in Mississauga late Saturday afternoon, police say.
The incident happened at a shopping plaza in the Cooksville neighbourhood, near Dundas Street West and Parkerhill Road, just west of Hurontario Street.
Peel Regional Police said they were called to that area just after 5 p.m.
They later said that 2 people sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries and were sent to separate hospitals. One patient was sent to a trauma centre, while the other went to a local hospital, said police.
Paramedics, meanwhile, said they transported two patients: a man with life-threatening injuries, and another person who with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said one suspect was taken into custody as they work to determine if there are any more outstanding suspects.
There is a large police presence in the vicinity and people are being advised by police to avoid the area.
