Police say a man has been arrested in connection with two separate Toronto-area shootings in July 2024.

Toronto police say the first shooting occurred on July 10 in the area of Weston Road and Steeles Avenue West in North York.

Responding officers found a man suffering with a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

Three days later, on July 13, police said they responded to the area of Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West, again in North York, for reports of shots fired.

Toronto police said two people were walking through a parking lot when three suspects exited a vehicle and fired at them before driving away in that same vehicle.

No one was injured in the second shooting.

Police now say 21-year-old Brandon Turner has been arrested in connection with the two shootings on Mon. Jan. 13.

Turner is charged with two counts of discharging and possessing a firearm as well as two counts of occupying a vehicle with a gun and stolen property.

The charges have not been tested in court.
