Toronto police are searching for a 37-year-old man who allegedly dragged an officer while fleeing a traffic stop in Scarborough Tuesday afternoon.
Police said officers were conducting a traffic stop in the area of Midland Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East around 3:30 p.m.

They stopped a black BMW after allegedly running a stop sign in a school zone.
During the traffic stop, officers found out that the driver allegedly breached his release conditions.
“When officers attempted to arrest the suspect, he placed the vehicle into drive and dragged one of the officers a short distance,” police said in a news release issued Tuesday evening.
The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver has been identified as Toronto resident Jerome Fitzroy Morgan. He is wanted for assault with a weapon, failure to remain and failure to comply with conditions.
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2011 four-door black BMW with Ontario licence plate CXFS 615. Police said it was last seen travelling east on Lawrence Avenue.

They are asking anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-4100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or www.222tips.com.
