Suspect sought in assault at Yorkville store during attempt to sell fake Rolex watch

A man is wanted for allegedly assaulting an employee while trying to sell a fake Rolex at a luxury watch store in Yorkville on Tuesday afternoon.

Toronto police said they received a call for a person with a gun near Yorkville Avenue and Bellair Street, west of Bay Street.

Officers arrived and found out that a man attended the store and attempted to sell a fake Rolex watch to an employee.

Police said that the employee noticed the watch was not authentic and refused to buy it.

The man then allegedly assaulted the employee and fled the area in a vehicle.

On Thursday, investigators released a photo of the suspect.

He is described as between 30 and 40 years old with a medium to large build and was wearing a yellow turban with a gold-coloured pin at the front, a black “North Face” winter jacket, a black face covering, light blue jeans, yellow and black shoes with white soles, and black gloves.

Meanwhile, the suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a white 2017-2018 Mercedes CLS model sedan. Police said the “CLS” model identifier had been removed from the vehicle.
