Cyclist in his 50s seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in downtown Toronto

A male cyclist in his 50s was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle in downtown Toronto on Wednesday evening.

It happened in the area of Spadina Avenue and College Street shortly after 8:20 p.m.

Toronto paramedics said the man was rushed to a trauma centre with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, police said.
