No GO train service on section of Lakeshore West line this weekend

Published:

GO train service on a stretch of the Lakeshore West line will be temporarily shut down this weekend to accommodate “critical track work,” GO Transit says.

There will be no GO train service between the Oakville and Exhibition GO stations on both Saturday and Sunday.

“GO Train service will continue to run between Niagara Falls and Oakville GO stations, as well as between Exhibition GO and Union Station, but replacement buses will serve Oakville and Clarkson GO and then run direct between Clarkson GO and Union Station,” Metrolinx said in a written statement.

There will be no GO Transit service at the Port Credit, Long Branch, or Mimico GO stations.

The track work, according to the provincial transit agency, will help bring “faster, more frequent service” across the network.

Metrolinx also noted that two extra westbound trains have been added to the schedule on Friday night to help get customers home from evens near Exhibition GO.
