Toronto police say a man has died following a late-night shooting at a commercial plaza in North York Saturday night.
Officers were called to the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East just before midnight after reports of gunfire.

Speaking to reporters outside the 42 division police station, Inspt. Jonathan Rose said when officers arrived they found a man in his 40s suffering from gunshot wounds.
“Life saving measures were performed, however, sadly, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene,” Rose said.
Investigators say the suspect or suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. No suspect description has been released

Rose says residents can “expect a large police presence” as officers continue to canvas for evidence.
As of Sunday morning, Victoria Park Avenue remains closed between Farmcrest Drive and Consumers Road, while Farmcrest Drive is closed between Meadowacres Drive and Victoria Park Avenue.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
