A 21-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting death of a Toronto rapper in Scarborough on Monday night.
Police were called to Kingston and Galloway roads before 10:30 p.m. and located 23-year-old Shakur Clarke-Sargeant suffering gunshot wounds.
Life-saving measures were performed but Clarke-Sargeant, known as the rapper YTN Paco, was pronounced dead at the scene. He is the city’s 32nd homicide victim of the year.
One suspect had been arrested, and in a news release on Friday, police identified him as 21-year-old Jeavon Quashie.
He was charged with first-degree murder. The charge has not been tested in court.
“We believe there was planning and deliberation,” Det.-Sgt. Phil Campbell said on Tuesday.
Homicide investigators said a second suspect is still outstanding, but they do not know his identity yet. He is described as Black, in his early 20s and wearing dark clothing.
