A 14-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving two vehicles in Scarborough early Sunday morning.
In an email to CP24.com, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) confirmed the teen was behind the wheel of a vehicle that collided with another car at Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue East just before 1 a.m., following a police pursuit.

According to investigators, a Toronto police officer in a marked cruiser attempted to stop the underage driver for speeding when the collision occurred.
He was transported to hospital, while three occupants of the other vehicle, a white electric Polestar with a baby seat in the back seat, walked away without any serious injuries, officials said.
Earlier, police said three people had been taken to hospital, including two with non-life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics also confirmed to CP24.com that a child was on scene but was not transported.
The SIU says three investigators have been assigned, two forensic investigators, and a collision reconstructionist to the case.
There is no word on any charges at this point.
The intersection, which was closed for several hours as police investigated, reopened late Sunday afternoon.
“The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation, including video or photos, to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529,” officials wrote to CP24.com.
