Two males and one female are in custody after police allege they crashed a stolen car in Toronto’s downtown core late Wednesday night.
According to police, at around 10:40 p.m., officers near Dundas and Sherbourne streets discovered what appeared to be a stolen vehicle in the area.
The vehicle, police said, was subsequently involved in a collision with another car.
“The officers had not activated their emergency equipment to initiate a vehicle stop prior to the collision and there was no pursuit involved,” police said in a statement to CP24.
The suspect vehicle, according to police, had flipped as a result of the collision.
Five people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the three occupants of the stolen vehicle, all youths, were taken into custody, police added.
