Video footage of a suspect firing shots at two separate homes in Vaughan earlier this week has now been released as York Regional Police continue their investigation into six shooting incidents in the city over the past month.
On Wednesday, police said they have now linked six shootings this month at four separate Vaughan addresses, including a home on Farrell Road, which has twice been targeted by gunfire in recent weeks.
The home, police said, is associated with Alexander Vinogradsky, a tow truck driver who was fatally shot in 2024.
In security video released by police on Friday, an SUV is seen pulling up to the Farrell Road home before a suspect exits the passenger’s side of the vehicle and begins firing at the house.
Moments later, a doorbell camera captures the same SUV pulling up to a home on Allison Ann Way nearby. A suspect begins shooting at another home before fleeing the scene.
Police said both homes were occupied at the time of the shootings but no injuries were reported.
Police would not confirm if they believe the shootings are connected to recent violent incidents linked to the towing industry.
“We understand that this is very concerning,” Const. Lisa Moskaluk told reporters on Wednesday.
“It is important to understand that these incidents are targeted between specific individuals. I cannot get into the details of that, but they are not random.”
Police have described the suspect vehicle as a silver or white SUV.
“Investigators are seeking any additional video surveillance from the area or anyone who may have captured dashcam video on the roadways at that time,” police said in a news release issued on Friday.
“Anyone who has not yet spoken to police is asked to please come forward.”
