If the Toronto Blue Jays win the World Series for the first time since 1993, outfielder George Springer can look forward to more than just a champagne shower, millions of dollars and a chance to hoist the Commissioner’s Trophy.
He’s also being promised a ride on a horse.
The Toronto police Mounted Unit took to social media to post a video with the alluring promise of a ride down Bremner Boulevard, the street near Rogers Centre, the home stadium of Jays.
The offer didn’t come unprompted.
After their game on Sunday, Springer confirmed in an on-field interview that should the team win the American League East division, their first in 10 years, he wanted to ride a policeman’s horse with the “tarp off” while swinging his shirt around.
“Top off, police horse is ready,” he said, followed by an enthusiastic rallying cry that included a profanity.
It didn’t take long for Toronto police to respond with the enticing promise.
“Hey George Springer we heard someone is looking for a ride…” the post read.

It included a video of an officer leading a horse named Blue Jay, wearing a saddle that features a Blue Jays patch, out of a stable.
“If you’re looking for a ride down Bremner, we might just have the horse for you,” the officer says. “So if the Toronto Blue Jays can bring the World Series back to Toronto, this Blue Jay might give you that ride. Looking forward to October baseball. Go Jays Go.”
On X, the video has been viewed 219,000 times and has 5,800 likes.
The Blue Jays begin their playoff campaign on Saturday against either the New York Yankees or the Boston Red Sox in the best-of-five American League Division Series.
