Orillia OPP charge Toronto driver for speeding, possessing open alcohol and shotgun

A Toronto man is facing multiple charges after being pulled over for speeding, where police found a shotgun and open alcohol in the vehicle.

Provincial police reported Monday morning that they arrested a Toronto man after pulling him over in the Orillia area on Friday.

According to Orillia OPP, an officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 11 in Severn Township during the noon hour, when they saw a vehicle travelling at a ‘high’ rate of speed.

An OPP media officer told CTV News that the driver was clocked at 126 kilometres per hour in the northbound direction near the Agnew Road ramp.

After pulling the vehicle over, police say they found the driver to be in possession of a shotgun and open alcohol.

The 43-year-old man from Etobicoke was charged with speeding, driving while possessing an open container of liquor, and unauthorized firearm possession.
