A Loblaws store in North York is closing, with plans to be replaced by a T&T next year.

Located in the RioCan Empress mall near Yonge Street and Empress Avenue, just north of Sheppard Avenue, the store’s last day of operation will be on Oct 26, Loblaw confirmed to CTV News in a statement.

A T&T will move in “sometime in 2026,” the company said.

“We believe that a T&T Supermarket will be a better fit for the Empress Market community,” suggesting T&Ts offer “a broader range of Asian products and services that cater to the local community.”

T&T is owned by Loblaw Companies Limited, which also owns President’s Choice, No Name, Farmer’s Market, No Frills, and a handful of clothing and health brands.
