Child and adult injured after hit-and-run in downtown Toronto

Toronto police investigating after a child and an adult were taken to hospital after being struck late Friday night (CP24 photo).

Toronto police say a child and an adult were taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in a downtown hit-and-run late Friday night.

Officers were called to the area of Adelaide Street and Ontario Street at around 10:21 p.m. for reports of a collision involving two pedestrians.

Police say the driver fled the scene adding that both victims were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials tell CP24 that the adult victim is a 43-year-old woman while the child is confirmed to be a 10-year-old boy.
